BELGIUM-CRIME-DISAPPEARANCE
The castle Carpentier is pictured on February 18, 2012 in Maria-Aalter near the site where the body of a missing 34-year-old Belgian real-estate agent, Stijn Saelens, was found yesterday. Saelens went missing on January 31 from his home in nearby Wingene, some 20 kms south of Brugges. His wife, Elisabeth Gyselbrecht, a doctor found blood at the entrance of their home when she returned for lunch. A trail of blood led from the front door to the garden, where it stopped. Police had said that Saelens, who planned to leave on a trip to Australia on February 3, was murdered. Six people, including his father-in-law and his brother-in-law, and four Chechen men were arrested on February 16 in connection with his disappearance.
