CHILE-QUAKE-ANNIVERSARY
An excavator is used for works in the beach of Dichato, Chile, on February 21, 2012. At least 500 people died two years ago when the South American nation was hit by a huge 8.8-magnitude earthquake, numerous aftershocks, some reaching over 6 points on the Richter scale, and subsequent tsunamis. Dichato, a town of 3000 inhabitants, lost over an 80 percent of its houses two years ago when a tsunami hit it after an earthquake. A village called El Molino was settled in a high area of the town with emergency wooden houses, where over 450 families wait for the construction of new homes. AFP PHOTO /Hector Retamal
