BELGIUM-CRIME-SAELENS
Johan Platteau, the lawyer of Andre G., one of three suspects arrested in connection with the disapppearance and murder of 34-year-old Belgian real-estate agent, Stijn Saelens, arrives on March 6, 2012 at the Ghent palace of justice for a hearing. Saelens went missing on January 31 from his home in Wingene, some 20 kms south of Brugges. His wife, Elisabeth Gyselbrecht, a doctor found blood at the entrance of their home, the Wingene castle, when she returned for lunch. A trail of blood led from the front door to the garden, where it stopped. Saelens had planned to leave with his family on a trip to Australia on February 3. His body was found on February 17 burried in a forest near his home. The suspects are his father-in-law, a brother-in-law and one of their friends. According to a Flemish newspaper, the father-in-law and the friend confessed in taking part in the killing. AFP PHOTO / NICOLAS MAETERLINCK - BELGIUM OUT -
