Indonesian students burn a tire during a rally against the government's plan to raise prices of fuel, near the Indonesian presidential palace in Surabaya on March 27, 2012. Thousands of Indonesians protested nationwide amid tight security on March 27 to reject the government's plan to hike the subsidised fuel price in line with rising global oil prices. In Jakarta, more than 20,000 police and soldiers were deployed, amid fears of a repeat of violent protests caused in the past by similar plans to hike the fuel.
