(From 3rd R) Algerian former President Chadli Bendjedid and current Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki and other officials stand behind the wooden coffin of Algeria's first post-independence president Ahmed Ben Bella during his State funerals on April 13, 2012 in Algiers. Ben Bella, hailed as an anti-colonial hero and the father of the nation, and died two days before at age 95 following a recent hospital stay for respiratory problems, was laid to rest in the Martyrs' plot in Algiers' El Alia cemetery, alongside other independence fighters.
