Bulgaria's supreme court of appeal slightly revised on May 3, 2012 jail sentences for racketeering of two local crime bosses, who became notorious when they tried to avoid trial in 2009 by running for parliament. Under this final ruling, Plamen Galev and Angel Hristov, known as the Galev brothers in their southern town of Dupnitsa, will spend five years in jail for masterminding a crime gang for extortion racketeering -- down from seven years for Galev but unchanged for Hristov.
