SWITZERLAND-MOROCCO-AEROSPACE-ENERGY-SOLAR-PICCARD-FILES
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY LUCY CHRISTIE
(FILES) -- A file photo taken in the 1960's shows Swiss born physicist, Auguste Piccard (L) posing with his son Jacques Piccard on the deck of the Trieste bathyscaphe. For Swiss pilot Bertrand Piccard, adventure really is in the blood. By flying between continents in a solar-powered plane, the explorer has propelled himself again into the record books where two generations of his family have also secured a place. Piccard's grandfather, physics professor Auguste (1884-1962), is credited with making the first exploration of the stratosphere, climbing 16 kilometres (10 miles) in a hot air balloon in 1931.
