ITALY-RESTORATION-ART-DOOR
People stand in front of the Florence Baptistery where are displayed a replica of the glories of early Renaissance Italian art, Lorenzo Ghiberti's "Gate of Paradise", in Florence on June 26, 2012. Inside the "Opificio delle pietre dure" the original doors, the Renaissance bronze and gold doors of the Florence Baptistry, have been restorated after almost three decades. The restored doors will be placed inside the Museo dell’Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore in a temperature controlled environment to protect them from further damage and will be unveiled to the public in September.
