The Oscar for best director that was won by Michael Curtiz for "Casablanca" will be auctioned on June 28, 2012 in Los Angeles and could reach 2.5 to 3 million dollars, according to auctioneers Nate D. Sanders. The Oscar won by Curtiz in 1943 for this classic film, which starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, was sold in 2003 to American magician David Copperfield, for 231,500 dollars.
