Miryam Justo, a travel guide with a bachelor's degree in Forestry Sciences and a keen interest in conservation and education, poses for a photograph on the deck of the 'Arctic Sunrise' boat as she launches with other activists from Svalbard, Norway, 78 degrees north of the equator, on June 29, 2012, beginning a month-long expedition through the Arctic. Arctic sea ice has already receded by 75% in the last 30 years, and scientists on board the Arctic Sunrise will be working with 3D scanning experts and engineers to capture the true shape of Arctic sea ice for the first time.
