SENEGAL-MALI-ICC-BENSOUDA
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY SERGE DANIEL
The International Criminal Court's new chief prosecutor, Gambian lawyer Fatou Bensouda, gives an interview with AFP on July 1, 2012 in Dakar. Islamist rebels in northern Mali smashed four more tombs of ancient Muslim saints in Timbuktu on July 1 as the International Criminal Court warned their campaign of destruction was a war crime. "My message to those involved in these criminal acts is clear: stop the destruction of the religious buildings now," Bensouda told AFP in an interview in Dakar. "This is a war crime which my office has authority to fully investigate." AFP PHOTO / Mamadou Toure BEHAN
