Delta Air Lines said July 17, 2012 it was working with authorities to probe the discovery of sewing needles in four sandwiches on flights from the Netherlands to the United States. The needles were found on aircraft bound for Atlanta, Seattle and Minneapolis from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, Delta spokeswoman Kristin Baur told AFP. One person was injured in the incident but declined treatment. "Delta is taking this matter extremely seriously and is cooperating with local and federal authorities who are investigating the incident," the airline said in a statement.
