The family killed a number of poisonous snakes they found in and outside their home today while searching for items to salvage. Philip Martinez Sr., along with his wife Melanie and mother-in-law, was forced to ride out Hurricane Isaac in the home when their car broke down. The house quickly flooded and they were rescued by a neighbor who was able to break into their attic to save them. Melanie has lost five homes to hurricanes in Louisiana.
