CYCLING-USA-ARMSTRONG-FILES
US Lance Armstrong (US Postal/USA) holds his trophy after winning the 91st Tour de France cycling race ahead of German Andreas Kloden (T-Mobile/Ger) and Italian Ivan Basso (CSC/Den) on the Champs-Elysees in Paris 25 July 2004. Lance Armstrong on October 11, 2012 gave off an air of indifference to claims that he was at the centre of the biggest doping scandal in sporting history. Eleven former team-mates gave evidence against Armstrong -- who battled back from life-threatening cancer to win the Tour de France seven times -- accusing him of taking banned substances and enforcing a doping culture within the team.
