Member of the French High Council of Biotechnology (HCB) Jean-Christophe Pages gives a press conference on October 22, 2012 after the presentation of the long-term animal study by Gilles-Eric Seralini, professor of the University of Caen, about Genetically Modified (GMO) food, which, according to him, proves the long-term toxicity of GMOs and "Round-up". The study examined the long-term effects of Monsanto's Roundup weedkiller and NK603 Roundup-resistant GM maize and linked them to mammary tumors, kidney and liver damage and other serious illnesses in rats.
