CROATIA-WARCRIMES-ICTY-TRIAL-APPEAL
Croatian war veterans hold candles in Zagreb, on November 15, 2012, as thousands of Croatians gathered for prayers and candlelight vigils throughout the country for two former wartime generals ahead of their appeal verdict by the UN war crimes court. Hundreds of war veterans, many in uniforms, gathered at the Mirogoj cemetery to pray for the former generals Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac a day ahead of their appeal against The Hague-based UN war crimes court verdict. Croatia's veterans' groups said they would also organise a rally on November 16, 2012 at Zagreb's central square where the ICTY hearing will be broadcast live on a giant screen.
