GHANA-VOTE
Eighty-year-old Aminatu Sulemana sits in a queue holding her voter's card at Maluwe polling station, Bole Bamboi constituency, in a northern region on December 7, 2012 as Ghana voted in a high-stakes presidential election which is expected to be close, with the emerging country seeking to live up to its promise as a beacon of democracy in turbulent West Africa. Long lines could be seen in some areas and a number of voters said they had waited all night to cast ballots, with President John Dramani Mahama vying for a first elected term against the main opposition candidate Nana Akufo-Addo.
