FRANCE-CORSICA-CRIME-ATTACKS
A picture taken on December 8, 2012 in Calvi, Corsica, shows one of the houses destroyed in a series of at least 24 attacks aimed at secondary residences across the island overnight December 7 to 8. The series of attacks, which made no victims and have not yet been claimed, is the biggest since May, which was claimed shortly afterwards by the National Liberation Front of Corsica (FLNC) denouncing real estate and property speculation, making it more difficult for islanders to live on the island. The attacks occured several hours after nightclub boss Jeremy Mattioni, 29, a recently released convict, was shot dead in his car on as he left his home in Calvi.
