PHILIPPINES-PROTEST-INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
Protester burn and effigy of Philippine President Benigno Aquino on board a mock tank as they commemorate International Human Rights Day near the Presidential Palace in Manila on December 10, 2012. The protesters are calling out the Aquino administration as the number one human rights violator. They accusing the government because of the alleged militarization of the countryside. Thirty five anti-mining and environment advocates, most of whom are indigenous people, have been allegedly killed by the military because of their strong opposition to the entry of multinational companies they accuse of plundering their land.
