Oxford and Cambridge university have launched a joint fundraiser to purchase the Lewis-Gibson Genizah Collection which comprises of more than 1,700 fragments of Hebrew and Arabic manuscripts, originating from the Cairo Genizah and dating from the 9th - 19th century. The script on this page is a palimpsest, a reused parchment, with the 9th - 10th century text of the Jerusalem Talmud written over an earlier Christian work possibly dating from around 600 CE.
