ANTARCTIC-AUSTRALIA-JAPAN-WHALING
This handout framegrab image taken on February 25, 2013 and received on February 26 by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society shows what Sea Shepherd says is a concussion grenade thrown from the Japanese factory ship Nisshin Maru (L) and exploding near the whaling fleet’s fuel tanker, the San Laurel (R) during clashes with Shepherd ship Bob Barker (C) in icy waters off Antarctica. Veteran anti-whaling campaigner Paul Watson said the Japanese factory ship the Nisshin Maru rammed the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's much smaller vessel the Bob Barker. But on its website, Japan's Institute for Cetacean Research accused several Sea Shepherd boats of ramming the Nisshin Maru as it attempted to refuel with her supply tanker the Sun Laurel.
