Alleged Belgian child killer Marc Dutroux-s lawyers, Belgian Xavier Magnee (L) and Martine Van Praet (R), arrive 01 March 2004 at the court house of Arlon. The long-awaited trial of alleged Belgian child killer Marc Dutroux finally began today nearly eight years after a spate of abuse of schoolgirls that convulsed his country and and shocked the world. Dutroux is charged over the kidnapping, rape and beatings of six girls, four of whom died allegedly at the hands of the man who came to be known as the "monster of Charleroi."
