This file picture shows former Argentine President (1989-1999) Carlos Menem (C) listening to his sentence during his trial in Buenos Aires on September 13, 2011. Menem was convicted on March 8, 2013, of orchestrating arms smuggling while in office. The Appeals Court issued a guilty verdict against the 82-year-old Menem and his then defense minister, Oscar Camilion, for the smuggling of 6,500 tons of weapons and ammunition to Croatia and Ecuador.
