(FILES) This file picture taken in March-April 1938 of Nazi Chancellor Adolf Hitler climbing down the steps of the "Neue Burg", an aisle of the Hofburg Palace, at Heldenplatz (Heroes Square) in Vienna, during his visit in Austria just after the "Anschluß", Austria`s annexation by Germany. From 1938, Hitler, as chief of the Wehrmacht (German Army), launched the conquest of the "vital space" for "Greater Germany". He annexed Austria and Czechoslovaquia in 1938, and Poland in 1939, which started World War II. AFP PHOTO
