Labour party leader and newly sworn in Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muscat (centre), greats the crowd who gathered to witness the swearing in at the Grand Masters Palace in Valletta. Maltese Labour leader Joseph Muscat was sworn in as prime minister on Monday after his party swept to power for the first time in 15 years in the eurozone's smallest member state. The 39-year-old Muscat, an ex-journalist and former member of the European Parliament, scored a landslide win against the incumbent Nationalist Party of Lawrence Gonzi in elections on Saturday.
