(FILES) -- A file picture taken on July 4, 2012 shows Jean Veil, lawyer of French telecoms company France Telecom former CEO Didier Lombard, leaving the office of the investigating judge in Paris. Jean Veil appeared on April 2, 2013 beside his client, ex-budget minister Jerome Cahuzac, during his hearing by investigating judges as part of a probe into a Swiss bank account he allegedly used to hide assets from the tax authorities. Cahuzac's former lawyer, Gilles August asked his client to be discharged after former budget minister -- once responsible for cracking down on tax evasion -- admitted having a foreign bank account, an allegation he had until then denied. Jean Veil is also the lawyer of former French IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn and former French president Jacques Chirac, and the advisor of French oil group Total and French bank Societe Generale.
