Visitors crowd around models exhibited 03 March 2004 at the Geneva car show. Struggling top European car makers marked the opening of the Geneva motor show Tuesday with warnings that sluggish economic conditions and the strength of the euro were undermining their attempts to pull out of trouble through heavy cost-cutting. US giant Ford predicted more losses this year on its European operations, while ailing Italian group Fiat Auto cautioned its climb back to breakeven would only start to bear fruit in 2005.
