BRAZIL-BELGIUM-BEER-AMBEV-INTERBREW
People walk along a street in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where a neon sign of Antartica beer (top L) can be seen outside a supermarket, 03 March 2004. Belgian brewer Interbrew and Brazil-s Ambev announced Wednesday they are joining forces via a complex multi-billion-euro transaction to create a global beer giant. The merged company that will be known as InterbrewAmBev, will have a combined market capitalisation of 16.5 billion euros (20.62 billion dollars), and is expected to sell 215 million hectoliters in total volume, making it the number one or number two player in more than 20 beer markets around the world.
