BRITAIN-HOON-DEEPCUT
British Defense Secretary Gepff Hoon departs No. 10 Downing Street after the morning cabinet meeting 04 March 2004. A new inquiry into deaths of four recruits at Deepcut barracks is to be held by a Commons committee after Surrey Police, which completed its own investigation into the case, has called for independent monitoring of how the Army cares for young soldiers. The police report recommended the MoD consider a "broader investigation" into Army training. Geoff Gray, James Collinson, Cheryl James and Sean Benton died at Deepcut barracks between 1995 and 2002.
