INDIA-HERITAGE-COTTON
Manchaster based artist Gavin Parry poses in front of his art work during the 'Ahmedabad-Manchester Cotton Exchange Material Response Exhibition' to mark the World Heritage Day, at old Rajnagar Mill in Ahmedabad on April 18, 2013. Thirteen artists from Gujarat in India and Lancashire, and Manchester in the United Kingdom have been exchanging ideas and travelling to each other’s cities over the last two years as part of a project called Cotton Exchange. Telling stories of travel the works explore the linked cotton heritage between India and the UK and more specifically the two great cotton centres of the world Ahmedabad and Manchester.
