(FILES) A combination of file photos taken on May 2, 2007 shows a bear riding a bicycle (L) and a monkey riding a bicycle (R) at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. A video clip uploaded to social media sites on May 6, 2013 showing a bicycle-riding bear chasing and mauling a monkey, also riding a bicycle, has sparked widespread criticism about animal performances in China which are not regulated by legislation. The attack which took place during a performance at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park follows cases of animal abuse which have drawn widespread media attention recently. According to state media, last week footage emerged online of two zoo workers mistreating a tiger at a zoo in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, featuring a man in uniform riding on the back of the tiger, and another man was slapping the animal's head.
