China on May 10, 2013 announced the start of an investigation into the dumping of seamless steel tubes and pipes in domestic markets by firms from the Europe, the United States, and Japan after receiving a complaint from a Chinese company. Beijing urged the European Union on May 9, to avoid engaging in protectionism, after Brussels proposed an anti-dumping levy on imports of Chinese solar panels.
