INDIA-SPACE-SATELLITE-LAUNCH
India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C22) is launched from The Satish Dhavan Space Centre Sriharikota in the south-eastern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh late July 1, 2013. India has launched the first of seven satellites for its domestic satellite navigation network on July 3, 2013, its space centre said, in the first step to creating a scaled down version of the US Global Positioning System. A rocket took off in the early hours from a site in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh and injected the 600-kilogramme (1,300-pound) satellite into orbit 20 minutes later.
