Shakes Tshabalala (L) is photographed on July 3, 2013 in the the main hall of the Donaldson Orlando Community Centre (aka Soweto YMCA) in the East Orlando, Soweto. In a sweaty township gym where former South African President Nelson Mandela once trained as a young boxer, athletes are still pumping iron today, inspired by the peace icon's example as he fights for his life in hospital.
