Elisabeth Kichkine, 99, better known as "Lisha", the "Russian grandmother of China," is the widow of Li Lisan, the predecessor of Mao Tse-tung, who lead the young Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the late 1920s, speaks during a ceremony where she was awarded the Legion of Honor by France, in Beijing on July 8, 2013. Frail, emotional and perfectly lucid, Lisha, who speaks excellent French studied in Moscow in the 1930s, received the insignia the honour in a room of the Friendship Hospital, from the Ambassador of France, Sylvie Bermann, in the presence of her family, and friends.
