Visitors watch a light show in the Mont Saint-Michel abbey as part of its Nocturnes festival on July 11, 2013 at the Unesco world heritage site in northern France. The serenity of the night shows at the abbey, which last until August 24, contrast with the tension arising over the construction of a dam over the Couesnon riverbed which surrounds the Mont Saint-Michel to flush out certain sediments and upon completion create a reservoir in the riverbed.
