CHINA-ENVIRONMENT-POLLUTION
This handout picture taken on May 4, 2013 and released by Greenpeace East Asia shows waste water discharged by the Shenhua Coal to Liquid and Chemical Project flowing into a bank of sand where they let it seep into the ground and evaporate naturally in Ordos, in north China's Inner Mongolia region. A major Chinese state-owned coal producer has caused "drastic drops" in groundwater near one of its projects, the environmental group Greenpeace said in a report on July 23, 2013. The plant in Ordos, the capital of Inner Mongolia, a major coal-producing region, is one of an initial handful of projects using coal to make chemicals. AFP PHOTO / GREENPEACE / QIU BO
