Tengger tribe devotees belonging to Indonesia's Hindu minority and visitors gather at the crater rim of Mount Bromo, an active volcano in East Java province on July 24, 2013 during the annual Kasada ceremony. Hundreds of worshippers from the Tengger tribe offered food and livestock as a symbolic sacrifice to throw into the crater for a blessing of safety and prosperity to their family and community. According to tribe elders the tradition is based on Tengger folklore where their Gods granted the plea of a childless prince and princess on condition to sacrifice their 25th child.
