US-JUSTICE-CRIME-FILES
This frame grab combo from a July 2, 2013 video courtesy of Hennes Paynter Communications shows (R-L) Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight, and Gina de Jesus as they speak at the law offices of Jones Day in Cleveland, Ohio. The US man who kidnapped the three women and held them as sex slaves for a decade, Ariel Castro, pleaded guilty to his crimes on July 26, 2013 and accepted a life sentence. The Cleveland native told the court that he had also agreed to a prison term of more than 1,000 years on top of the life sentence, and that he knew he would never be released. The deal allows him to avoid the death penalty.
