DRCONGO-RWANDA-CONFLICT-UN-FILES
(FILES) M23 rebels withdraw from the city of Goma, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on December 1, 2012. Rebels in the volatile east of the Democratic Republic of Congo face a deadline on August 1, 2013 to lay down their arms, but they have dismissed the UN peacekeepers' ultimatum as irrelevant. "We consider that this measure does not concern us," said M23 chief Bertrand Bisimwa. His fighters were not in the flashpoint city of Goma or on the road heading south towards Sake where much fighting has taken place recently, he said. AFP PHOTO / PHIL MOORE
