View of the corridor separating the containment areas of the Ancon 2 prison, part of the Piedras Gordas Model Penitentiary complex, some 12 kilometers north of Lima, on August 22, 2013. The Peruvian National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) has developed a teaching-working system for men and women inmates in this high security installation. Held in single cells, those inmates who choose not to study or work are moved to lesser equipped jails under traditional regulations.
