EGYPT-US-SUEZ-SYRIA-NAVY-FILES
(FILES) A handout picture released on September 23, 2008 by the US Navy shows the guided-missile destroyer USS Ramage (DDG 61), the amphibious transport dock ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) and the guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) transiting through the Suez Canal. US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on August 24, 2013 strongly suggested the Pentagon was moving forces into place ahead of possible military action against Syria, even as President Barack Obama voiced caution.
