NETHERLANDS-BOSNIA-JUSTICE-UN-SREBRENICA
Alma Mustafic (R), the daughter of one of the victims, and her lawyer Liesbeth Zegveld embrace as they react to the ruling of the Supreme Court that the Netherlands is responsible for the deaths of three Muslim men after the fall of the Srebrenica enclave in 1995, on September 6, 2013 in The Hague. The Dutch state is responsible for sending three Bosnian Muslims to their deaths when they were expelled from a UN compound at Srebrenica in 1995, the supreme court ruled today. The final ruling in the long-running case means that former UN interpreter Hasan Nuhanovic, whose father, mother and brother were killed by Bosnian Serb forces after Dutch peacekeepers expelled them from the UN base, can seek compensation from the Dutch state.
