ADDITION-GERMANY-VOTE-CDU-MERKEL-POLICE-SECURITY
German Chancellor Angela Merkel (2nd,L) and Defence Minister Thomas de Maiziere (2nd,R) watch a quadcopter (drone) crashing onto the stage during an election campaign event of her German Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party in Dresden, eastern Germany on September 15, 2013, a week ahead of the German general elections. The radio controlled micro aircraft hovered over CDU supporters before coming down in front of an bemused Chancellor before a security officer removed the device. Germany's Pirate Party "Die Piraten" claimed on September 16, 2013 having sent the drone to protest against video surveillance (CCTV) installations by the police in the country.
