INDONESIA-ANIMAL
In this photograph taken on September 16, 2013, an Indonesian woman prepares to dry gecko lizards on a roof as part of a flourishing backyard export industry in Probolinggo town in Indonesia's eastern Java island. Residents breed geckos and others catch them from the wild which they then process and dry in the sun. The exotic animal industry generates good income as each piece of gecko costs one USD a piece for export. According to local businessmen they can export an average of 3,000 pieces of gecko every month to countries like Singapore, Taiwan, China, South Korea and Japan where they are then used for traditional medicines.
