INDIA-UNREST-ATTACKS
An Indian Army soldier takes cover behind a Tank, used to force entry inside the Officers' mess of 16 Cavalry unit during an attack by militants on an army camp at Mesar in Samba District, some 20 kms south-east of Jammu on September 26, 2013. Militants disguised as soldiers killed seven people in an attack on a police base in Indian Kashmir, days before long-awaited talks between the leaders of India and Pakistan, police said. The attackers then escaped after hijacking a truck and were now engaged in a fierce gun battle with Indian troops in Samba district of the region near the border with Pakistan, the NDTV news network and other local media reported.
