The website to the US Department of Commerce Bureau of Economic Analysis announces it will be unavailable until further notice due to the Federal government shutdown as seen on a laptop computer in in Los Angeles on October 1, 2013. US monuments closed, offices fell silent and 800,000 public servants were told to stay at home on Tuesday as Washington's perennial political crisis forced the first government shutdown in 17 years.
