ITALY-POLITICS-BERLUSCONI-EXPULSION
Commission president Dario Stefano announces the proposition of the parliamentary committee to expell former Prime Minister Sivio Berlusconi from the Senate on October 4, 2013 at the Senate in Rome. An Italian Senate committee proposed Silvio Berlusconi be expelled from parliament following his criminal conviction, dealing a further humiliating blow to the embattled billionaire tycoon. The senators, most of them leftist opponents of the three-time former premier, voted in favour of the motion which now has to go to the full Senate for final approval expected later this month.
