German Chancellor Angela Merkel (L) of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Bavarian State Premier Horst Seehofer of the Christian Social Union (CSU) arrive for a meeting before talks with the Green Party to explore the possibility to form a coalition government in Berlin on October 10, 2013. The exploratory talks with the left-leaning ecologist Green Party are part of Merkel's hunt for a governing partner after her conservatives won September 22 elections but fell short of a ruling majority.
