IRAQ-ENERGY-ELECTRICITY
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY FRANCIS CURTA
Abu Sajad, a private operator that furnishes electricity to the residents of a building with two generators, stands in front of a board of electrical meters on September 21, 2013 in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. In electricity-starved Iraq, just about everyone knows his amperes from his watts, and juggling electrical appliances to run them off a generator is by now second-nature. Power cuts and shortages have gone on for so long that most Iraqis turned to generators to make up for the lack of national grid electricity. AFP PHOTO/SABAH ARAR
